I've been where you are right now sister. I spent 15 years (that's 15 Ramadans!) as a single lady searching for a spouse. I attended numerous family Eid functions where I was the only one not married and I felt the anxiety and doubt creep in each time I wondered to myself whether next Ramadan II'd be breaking my fast with my husband or whether this was it forever.
I'd often lie awake in tears wondering whether marriage was even meant for me because it certainly didn't seem that way at the time.
During Ramadan I loved having an excuse to take time out from the marriage search for 30 days without anyone judging me but I felt anxious that I wasn't meeting anyone during that time and wondered if I could be using my time better during Ramadan towards getting married.
Imagine that deep connection
between you and your future husband as you wake up together for suhoor and huddle together trying to keep hold of your sleep
Imagine thesimple beauty
of dates and water shared between you and your spouse(followed by 1kg of samosas of course!)
Imagine thatwonderful feeling of praying
and growing together in this blessed month and looking forward to and Eid filled with two sets of family!
